The
password
prevents another pilot from changing the configuration settings that have been set up by the named pilot.
As soon as a pilot has been selected, the LX 7007 PRO IGC switches into the SET ELEVATION menu.
In Summary:
•
If
UNKNOWN
pilot name is selected, then the
FLIGHT INFO
settings from the last flight, irrespective of the pilot,
will be used
•
If a
Pilot
without a password is selected, then the FLIGHT INFO settings of the last flight by that pilot will be used.
•
If a
Pilot
with a password is selected, another pilot is not able to use his name nor alter any of his stored settings.
2.4.2
SET Elevation (take off elevation input)
We all know that air pressure changes all the time and it is important that the altimeter is re-referenced before each
flight. After completing the initialization, the instrument requires that the elevation of the present position is entered.
SET ELEVATION:
0185 ft
This setting is
obligatory.
The instrument will offer the last airport which was on the top of the NEAR AIRPORT list.
If this is OK, the pilot can either simply confirm the offered elevation, or alter it. After setting the elevation, an input of
the current QNH setting is called for. This is not mandatory, but very useful as by entering the QNH will enable the
pilot to subsequently alter it as necessary during the final glide. If the QNH is not entered, it can be ignored by pressing
ESC,
but the pilot will then be unable to subsequently alter the QNH setting during the final glide.
QNH:-------mb
Setting QNH
•
Rotate
UP/DOWN
and 1013 mb will be offered, or
•
Use
ENTER
and
UP/DOWN
to enter actual value
Note!:
If a single pilot flies the glider in different configurations, then it is recommended that he uses the multi pilot option
listing his names as 'AN OTHER 15m' and 'AN OTHER 18m' for instance. This will ensure that the correct polar will
be used as it is one of the stored individual settings.
Note!:
If the QNH is not set in the startup procedure, it cannot subsequently be changed in flight.
