INSTALLATION (SPECIFIC TO SFI36ST MODEL)
Model SFI36ST requires that the installation process be modified because the suction system is located in the
chimney and not in the range hood itself. The ceiling support plate must be installed first, then the range hood on
which the support frames have been installed must be secured to the ceiling in one piece, as follows :
Make sure you install the support plate in a way that ensures the range hood will be aligned with and parallel to
the counter. Remove the support plate and drill four holes with a diameter not exceeding 5/8” to a depth of 3”
to 3-1/2”. Fasten two hexagonal wood screws in two holes diagonally opposite from each other. Cut out a circle
of 7-1/2” in diameter for the duct work.
Use appropriate anchors for your type of ceiling :
•
Wood ceiling : Use hexagonals wood screws (not provided).
• Sheet-rock ceiling : Attach top supporting plate to stud blockings, if possible. If stud blockings are not
accessible, build a support structure behind the sheet-rock for optimal support.
• Concrete ceiling : Use designated screws (not provided).
1. Place the support plate in the desired location and hold it in place. Mark the hole locations for the anchors
with a pencil.
2. Align the holes of the support plate with the two screws in the ceiling. Push upward so the top supporting
plate locks into place. Fasten the two existing hexagonal wood screws, then insert two more in the last two
holes and fasten them.
