Operation
– Check the position of the soldering tip (1) before
heating up.
– Press the On-Off switch (4) and allow the device
to heat up (heat-up time:
– Dip the hot soldering tip in the soldering flux and
tin by fusing the soldering wire.
– Heat up the soldered joint with the hot soldering
tip.
– Feed the soldering wire over the outer edge of
the soldering tip and fuse.
– Wipe off contaminated soldering tips while hot
using a damp sponge.
– Release the On-Off switch (4) immediately after
completion of the work and allow the product to
cool down.
– Do not shock-cool the soldering iron in water but
just allow it to cool off in the air.
Information on soldering
• The soldering wire used must be suitable for the
soldering temperature of the product (solder
temperature:
• The size of the soldering tip must be suitable for
the size of the soldered joint.
• The soldered joint must be purely metal, i.e. free
from contamination and oxide coatings.
• The soldering tip must be tinned and free from
contamination.
Maintenance
Replacing soldering tips
– Undo the fixing screw(s).
– Remove the soldering tip.
– Insert new soldering tip.
– Insert the new soldering tip as far as it will go
because otherwise the heating element will burn
out immediately.
– Tighten the fixing screw(s).
Disposal
Disposal of the appliance
Appliances which are labelled with the adja-
cent symbol must not be disposed of in
household waste. You must dispose of such
old electrical and electronic equipment sep-
arately.
– Please check with your local authority about the
possibilities for correct disposal.
Through separate disposal you send old equipment
for recycling or for other forms of re-use. You will
thus help to avoid in some cases that damaging
material gets into the environment.
Wear protective goggles when working
with the product.
Wear tight-fitting clothing when working
with the product.
Cover long hair or wear a hair net if neces-
sary.

Keep the prod-
uct away from all flammable or tempera-
ture-sensitive objects.
Never place the product on tables or other
surfaces.
Always use the stand provided to store the
product.
DANGER! Danger of explosion!
Never
use flammable solvents to clean soldered
joints.
WARNING! Risk of poisoning!
Lead-con-
taining solders are toxic. Never eat, drink or
smoke when soldering. Always wash your
hands thoroughly after working with lead-
containing solder.
WARNING! Risk of burns!
Protect per-
sons and animals from hot tin-solder. If skin
comes into contact with hot tin-solder,
immediately rinse the affected area under
cold running water for a few minutes. Never
attempt to remove tin-solder from the skin.
NOTICE! Risk of product damage!
Never
heat the soldering iron without a soldering
tip.
Never quench soldering tips in water, but
leave to cool in air only.
NOTICE! Risk of product damage!
The
soldering gun may only be used for inter-
mittent operation (operating mode:
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the work-
piece.
Heat-sensitive components can
become damaged or destroyed if they
come into contact with soldering tips.
WARNING! Risk of burns!
Only replace
soldering tips when the mains plug is
removed and the product has cooled com-
pletely.
