Handling fuels
Fuels are flammable and explosive. Minimise the
risk of explosion and fire:
• Before fuelling, switch off the motor and let it
cool down.
• Before fuelling, detach the collecting sack.
• Smoking and naked flames are prohibited while
handling fuels.
• Only store and mix fuels in approved and
marked canisters.
• Seal fuel canisters before storing. Fuels evapo-
rate even at room temperature and can collect
on the floor in closed rooms (risk of explosion).
• Start the product several metres away from
where it was fuelled.
• Fuels are toxic! They contain substances that are
toxic on contact and that cause permanent
health damage. Heed the precautions to stop
these substances from being absorbed into your
body:
• Only fuel the product or decant the fuel-oil mix-
ture outdoors or in well-ventilated rooms.
• Do not inhale in fuel vapours.
• Avoid skin and eye contact.
• Wear gloves when decanting fuel.
• If the fuel-oil mixture gets onto your clothing,
remove the garment immediately. Clean the gar-
ment before wearing it again.
• Store fuels out of children's reach.
If used improperly, fuels endanger the environ-
ment:
• Decant the fuel-oil mixture carefully. The fuel-oil
mixture may not penetrate the ground or get into
the drain system.
• Fuel residues must be disposed of properly.
Never put it in the household waste.
• Fuels have a limited shelf-life. Only buy quanti-
ties that will be used within a few months.
