13.1

Module Exchange

If a module must be exchanged, the time limit of 10 minutes for the exchanging
must be timed accurately.

For the exchanging proceed as follow:

1. Identify the defect module or the module which has to be exchanged, with the

help of the diagnosis messages.

2. Switch off the power of the system.

3. Disconnect the interfaces.

4. Demount the module.

5. Mount the new module.

6. Connect the new module.

7. Switch on the power.

8. Test the module regarding any errors. After changing a module, a new

system test has to be completed.

13.1.1

MTTR (Mean Time To Restore)

All LION modules have a MTTR of 7 days. This means, if a malfunction or defect
module is detected, the module must be replaced within 7 days. For exchanging
a module, follow the steps in chapter

“Module Exchange” on page 72

13.2

Proof Test Interval

The I/O modules have a proof test interval of 15 years.

After this time, the modules have to be sent to Lütze Transportation GmbH for a
function test. If the test is done, the module can be reused.
