Addresses in the range 240.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255 are reserved for special cases.

•

The IP address shall not be 0.0.0.0.

•

The first (most significant) number in the IP address shall not have the value 127.
The IP addresses starting with 127 (127.x.x.x) are loopback addresses.
