  Hints and Tips

•  Use a recommended oil – do not mix oils or fats.
•  Take into account the type of food when you set the frying temperature. Generally, pre-

cooked foods need a higher cooking temperature than raw foods.

•  If you need to add oil, do so between batches. Allow a short time for the oil to heat up

to the right temperature.

•  Ensure there is enough room to open the appliance lid and operate the frying basket.
•  Cook food thoroughly. Remember that food may turn golden brown before it has

cooked through.

•  Use the fryer in a well-ventilated area. All food contains moisture which turns to steam

during frying. Most of this steam escapes through the filter in the lid.

•  Do not lean over the fryer when cooking food or when opening the lid.

Problem / Cause

Solution

Oil overflows

Not changing the oil regularly

enough.

Change the oil after about every 8 to 12 separate

uses.

The frying basket is overloaded.

Do not fill the frying basket above the top edge.

The oil is filled above the MAX

mark.

Fill the oil tank with oil between the MIN and MAX

marks.

The oil is reacting with frozen or

wet food.

Dry out the food or scrape away the frost before

frying.

The fryer does not work

It is not plugged in.

Make sure your fryer is plugged in and that the

mains cable is in good working order.

You have not turned the

temperature control.

Ensure the temperature control has been set

correctly.

You have not attached the control

box properly.

Unplug the fryer if it is plugged in, then try

attaching the control box again. Plug in the fryer

and turn it on again.

Reset button is continuously on.

Ensure the oil level is between the MIN and MAX

marks.

Food is not frying properly

Frying basket may be too full.

Reduce the amount of food in the frying basket.

Food pieces may be too big or are

heavily coated in ice.

Cut up the large pieces of food, and/or scrape off

the ice.

Oil temperature may not be high

enough.

Use the temperature control to increase the

temperature.

The food is not thoroughly cooked. Fry the food for a longer time. Food may turn

golden brown before it has cooked through.
