KEY LOCK OPERATION
All cash drawers have a three position key lock for maximum security.
The fully counter clockwise lock position offers maximum security. The
cash drawer can not be opened by computer or an individual when
the lock is in the full counter clockwise position. With the lock in the
center position, the drawer will open when correct command code is
received from the computer. The cash drawer is manually opened
when the lock is in the full clockwise position.
Drawer securely locked. Cannot be opened by computer or
manually.
Opens the drawer with the supplied key.
Automatically opens the drawer by computer control.
FUNCTINOAL TEST
Function of the drawer can be tested with the application POS
software after USB driver is installed successfully and the opening
command codes are programmed. Turn the cash drawer key lock to
the vertical position and run the POS software to verify that the drawer
will open correctly.
To test the drawer without the POS software, HyperTerminal
communication software that comes with Windows may be used. Use
the programming utility to program the cash drawer to open with a
one-byte code “48” (ASCII code for ‘1’). Then open HyperTerminal to
connect to the virtual COM port number as indicated in Device
Manager. When the connection is established, press “1” on the
keyboard should open the drawer. After testing, set the opening code
to match with requirements of the POS software.
