6.Troubleshooting Guide
TROUBLE
1. The edge of the field of
view is dark or the
brightness is not uniform
2. Dirt or dust is visible in
the field of view
3. Visibility is poor Image
is not sharp; Contrast is
poor; Details are indistinct
The nosepiece is not in the located
position (objective and light path not coaxial)
The surface of the lamp becomes black
Change a new lamp bulb
A lens (the objective,
condenser, eyepiece or collector) is dirty.
Locate the nosepiece
properly where it clicks
Clean it thoroughly
4. One side of image
is blurred
5. The brightness is not
enough
CAUSE
SOLUTION
Dirt/dust on the specimen
Replace with a clean specimen
Dirt/dust on the eyepieces
Specimen is not covered
Add cover glass on it
Clean them
The thickness of the cover glass is not suitable
Specimen is placed reversely
Dry objective has oil on it.
(especially for 40X objectives)
A lens (the objective, condenser,
eyepiece or collector) is dirty.
Immersion oil is not used with the 100x objective
Air bubbles existed in the immersion oil
The aperture iris diaphragm is stopped
down too far
Dirt or dust on the eyepiece
Condenser is not properly centered
The nosepiece is not properly engaged
The specimen is not clamped
The aperture iris diaphragm is too small
The condenser is too low
A lens (the objective, condenser,
eyepiece or collector) is dirty
Use standard cover glass
with thickness of 0.17mm
Turn it over
Wipe the oil
Clean it
Use specified oil
Eliminate the bubble
Adjust the aperture iris
diaphragm properly
Clean it
Center the condenser with the
centering screw
Engage the nosepiece properly
Clamp it with stage clips
Adjust it properly
Adjust it properly
Clean it
