6.Troubleshooting Guide

TROUBLE

1. The edge of the field of

view is dark or the

brightness is not uniform

2. Dirt or dust is visible in

the field of view

 3. Visibility is poor Image

 is not sharp; Contrast is

 poor; Details are indistinct

The nosepiece is not in the located

position (objective and light path not coaxial)

The surface of the lamp becomes black

Change a new lamp bulb

A lens (the objective,

condenser, eyepiece or collector) is dirty.

Locate the nosepiece

properly where it clicks

Clean it thoroughly

4. One side of image

 is blurred

5. The brightness is not

enough

 CAUSE

  SOLUTION

Dirt/dust on the specimen

Replace with a clean specimen

Dirt/dust on the eyepieces

Specimen is not covered

Add cover glass on it

 Clean them

The thickness of the cover glass is not suitable

Specimen is placed reversely

Dry objective has oil on it.

(especially for 40X objectives)

A lens (the objective, condenser,

 eyepiece or collector) is dirty.

Immersion oil is not used with the 100x objective

Air bubbles existed in the immersion oil

The aperture iris diaphragm is stopped

down too far

Dirt or dust on the eyepiece

Condenser is not properly centered

The nosepiece is not properly engaged

The specimen is not clamped

The aperture iris diaphragm is too small

The condenser is too low

A lens (the objective, condenser,

eyepiece or collector) is dirty

Use standard cover glass

with thickness of 0.17mm

Turn it over

Wipe the oil

Clean it

Use specified oil

Eliminate the bubble

Adjust the aperture iris

diaphragm properly

Clean it

Center the condenser with the

centering screw

Engage the nosepiece properly

Clamp it with stage clips
