Operation and maintenance
With installation completed, check with the instal-
ler that the appliance is fully operational. Ask the
installer that did the installation work to show you
the controls and functions so that you will know
how the system works and how to look after it.
Check the following:
• That the boiler and the heating system are
filled with water and any air in them has
been evacuated.
• That the air-vent is open to allow air to
come out.
• That all pipe connectors are tight, no leaks.
• That the safety valve works; water should
come out of the overflow pipe when this
valve is operated.
Switching on
• Switch on the boiler by turning the main
switch to position I, which should result in
the boiler’s operation and status indicator
to be illuminated.
• Set the desired temperature, see item
Con-
trol panel
. The output level must be ad-
justed if there is a need for heat. You can
shorten the output adjustment time by
keeping the “Snabb” (
Quick
) button press-
sed down until the desired number of levels
have been connected.
• Circulation pump starts up when
Output
Level
1 is selected.
Water pressure in the system
Check regularly that the system’s water pressure
is sufficient. The pressure gauge reading should
be 1.5 – 2.0 bar.
If the system’s pressure drops and does not rise,
fill it up with water until the pressure gauge
shows approx. 2 bar. Repeated problems in main-
taining the pressure may be an indication of a
leak in the system.
Water volume varies according to its temperature
and this affects the pressure in the system. The
higher the temperature, the greater the volume
and pressure. The expansion vessel accounts for
some of the volume variation. Do not add water
unless necessary.
Expansion vessel
The pre-pressure needs to be checked at intervals
of a few years by a competent installer.
Safety valve
The valve opens at 2.5 bar and its closing pres-
sure is slightly less. This valve needs to be ope-
rated at regular intervals, about every 3 months.
Do this by turning the valve handle until water
comes out of the overflow pipe. Contact a compe-
tent installer if the safety valves open repeatedly.
Air-bleeding
Some air may remain in the heating system after
installation, which is why air-bleeding should be
done a few times afterwards on the under floor
heating system/radiator system.
Check the pressure after air-bleeding and whene-
ver you fill up the system.
Air-bleeding valve
Isolation valve
The electric boiler is equipped with an automatic
air-bleed valve which facilitates air-bleeding in
connection with startup. The bleed valve should
be closed approx. 1 month after the heating sys-
tem has been switched on.
