Connecting—

6. After turning the system on, the system will be in a setup state for two minutes.
This time period is used for aiming the camera and getting the system set up
without having to waste video tape during the setup. By default, the system will
be set into an active state when the timer times out. To bypass the timer, simply
activate a sensor or push the button on the key fob. Every time you turn the
power off and on, the system will go into the setup mode.
7.
Now that all the required components are connected, let’s turn the unit on
and run through a test. Turn on the
System Power switch, Figure F,
which is located inside on the panel.
In the ON position, this switch
powers up the processor and keeps
the system in the run mode. As
noted in step 6, the system will be
in a setup mode in which the cam-
era can be aimed but the recorder
will not record the activity. Once
the system is aimed, it can be set
into its program mode by waiting
two minutes or by activating a sensor or pushing the button on the key fob.

*NOTE* If the system is automatically going to a program mode and skipping
the setup period, check and make sure you are not accidentally triggering the
sensors. At worst you’ll lose a few minutes of video tape while you are setting the
system up. You can tell when the system is recording by noting if the red LED on
the GVD-800 is on.

Telonics Magnetometer
This sensor is used to detect metal objects such as vehicles.. This
sensor uses two 9 volt batteries located inside the case and will last
approximately 45 days. The sensor and processor is designed to be
buried and is totally water proof. The sensor transmitter is attached
to the cable coming from the processor box and
MUST BE LOCATED
ABOVE GROUND.
The transmitter cannot send a signal to the cam-
era system if it is buried. The enclosed paperwork contains detailed
instructions about placement and sensor activation.
