INTRODUCTION
The Little Giant junction box and alarm kit, Model JBAK, provides
a junction box for making all electrical connections for Little Giant
automatic grinder pumps. It includes a UL/CSA listed non-mercury,
mechanically activated float switch that operates the alarm beacon
that alerts the user of a high water condition. The alarm does not
include an audible alarm buzzer.
These instructions should be read completely before beginning
the installation and must remain with the unit at all times.
SAFETY GUIDELINES
1. MAKE SURE ALL POWER IS DISCONNECTED PRIOR TO
MAKING ANY CONNECTIONS!
2. VERIFY THAT THE PROPER VOLTAGES ARE AVAILABLE
FOR THE AUTOMATIC GRINDER PUMP AND THE ALARM
CIRCUIT. IF UNSURE OF LINE VOLTAGE, PHASE OR
OTHER SOURCE ELECTRICAL PARAMETERS, CONSULT
A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH
INSTALLATION.
3. THIS SYSTEM REQUIRES TWO VOLTAGE SUPPLIES:
ONE FOR THE PUMP AND ONE FOR THE ALARM, WITH
A NEUTRAL LINE SUPPLIED WITH THE 120 VOLT (115
VOLT, NOMINAL) ALARM CIRCUIT SUPPLY.
4. ENSURE ALL SYSTEMS ARE PROPERLY GROUNDED.
THERE SHOULD BE A GROUND WIRE FROM THE 200-208
VOLT OR 230 VOLT INCOMING PUMP POWER, A GROUND
WIRE FROM THE 115 VOLT INCOMING ALARM POWER
AND A GROUND WIRE FROM THE PUMP POWER CORD.
A GROUNDING LUG IS PROVIDED ON THE BACK PLATE OF
THE ENCLOSURE AND THE BOTTOM TERMINAL OF THE
TERMINAL BLOCK IS ALSO CONNECTED TO GROUND.
5. DO NOT CONNECT THE NEUTRAL TO GROUND.
6. ALL TERMINAL BLOCK CONNECTIONS MUST BE CLOSELY
INSPECTED TO ASSURE THAT THERE IS NO WIRE
INSULATION IN THE TERMINAL AND THAT THERE ARE
NO WIRE STRANDS STICKING OUT OF THE TERMINAL.
7. MAKE ALL CONNECTIONS IN THE JUNCTION BOX PER
FEDERAL, STATE OR PROVINCIAL AND LOCAL ELECTRICAL,
BUILDING AND PLUMBING CODES.
INSTALLATION
1. Determine a convenient location for mounting the junction box,
preferably close to the grinder pump installation. The location
should allow clear visibility of the alarm beacon. Avoid wet
locations such as beneath sweating pipes or faucets.
2. The junction box has four corner-located mounting holes. The
junction box should be mounted to a wall or secure vertical
structure. Use the appropriate attachment means, i.e., lock
washers, anchors for masonry or concrete, etc. to securely
mount the junction box.
3. Connect the incoming pump power, 200-208 VAC or 240 VAC
(230 volt nominal), to the 25-Amp circuit breaker, CB1.
4. Connect the pump on/off float switch, FS-1, to the terminals
marked 1 and T1 on the top of the terminal block. The label
on the back plate, adjacent to the terminal block, indicates that
these are the terminals for FS-1.
5. Connect the black and white pump power cord wires to the
terminals marked T1 and T2 on the top of the terminal block.
The label on the back plate indicates that these are the terminals
for the PUMP.
6. Connect the mechanically activated alarm float switch that is
included with the kit to the terminals marked 2 and 3 on the
top of the terminal block. The label on the back plate indicates
that these are the terminals for the alarm float, FS-2.
7. Connect the 115 VAC alarm power supply to the line (L), neutral
(N) and ground (G) terminals. The ground terminal of the ter-
minal block has been connected to the screw on the lower left
corner of the back plate. This leaves the back plate ground lug
available for connection of the ground wires from the incoming
pump power supply and the pump power cord.
8. Switch the CB1 circuit breaker to the ON position and test the
pump and alarm circuit for proper operation.

INTRODUCTION
La boîte de dérivation et la trousse d’alarme de Little Giant, modèle
JBAK, permet d’effectuer toutes les connexions électriques pour
les pompes broyeuses automatiques de Little Giant. Elle comprend
un interrupteur à flotteur sans mercure, homologué UC/CSA et
activé mécaniquement, qui fait fonctionner le voyant d’avertisseur
et signale à l’utilisateur la présence d’un niveau d’eau élevé.
L’alarme n’inclut pas de sonnerie audible.
Lire toutes les instructions avant de commencer l’installation et les
garder avec l’appareil en tout temps.

3. CE SYSTÈME EXIGE DEUX SOURCES DE TENSION: UNE
POUR LA POMPE ET UNE POUR L’ALARME, DE MÊME
QU’UNE LIGNE NEUTRE FOURNIE AVEC L’ALIMENTATION
DU CIRCUIT D’ALARME DE 120 VOLTS (115 VOLTS
NOMINAL).
4. VÉRIFIER QUE TOUS LES SYSTÈMES SONT CORRECTEMENT
MIS À LA TERRE. UN FIL DE MISE À LA TERRE DOIT
PROVENIR 1) DE LA POMPE D’ENTRÉE DE 200-208 VOLTS
OU 230 VOLTS, 2) DE L’ALIMENTATION D’ALARME DE
115 VOLTS ET 3) DU CORDON D’ALIMENTATION DE LA
POMPE. LA PLAQUE ARRIÈRE DE L’ENCEINTE COMPORTE
UNE PATTE DE MISE À LA TERRE ET LA BORNE INFÉRIEURE DE
LA PLAQUE À BORNES EST ÉGALEMENT MISE À LA TERRE.
5. NE PAS CONNECTER LE NEUTRE À LA TERRE.
6. INSPECTER SOIGNEUSEMENT TOUTES LES CONNEXIONS
DE LA PLAQUE À BORNES POUR S’ASSURER QU’IL N’Y A
AUCUNE ISOLATION DE FIL DANS LA PLAQUE À BORNES
ET QU’AUCUN FIL N’EN DÉPASSE.
7. EFFECTUER TOUS LES BRANCHEMENTS DANS LE
BOÎTIER DE DÉRIVATION EN RESPECTANT TOUS LES
RÈGLEMENTS FÉDÉRAUX, PROVINCIAUX ET LOCAUX DE
PLOMBERIE ET D’ÉLECTRICITÉ.
