ixing A mAlfunCtion
A malfunction may be due to a minor problem that you can solve yourself using the
instructions in the following table. Before calling a technician, perform the following
checks:
Problems Possible causes Solutions
The appliance is not wor -
king.
The thermostat is in the
“Off” position. Turn the thermostat to the
“5” position.
The plug is not plugged in
or is improperly plugged
in. Plug the plug into the out -
let.
A fuse has blown or is de -
fective.
Check the fuse, and
replace it if necessary.
The electrical outlet is
defective. Repairs to the outlet should
be done by an electrician.
The appliance cools down
too much. The thermostat is set to
a temperature that is too
cold. Temporarily set the
thermostat to a warmer
temperature.
The interior lighting is not
working. The bulb is defective.
Replace it. Please refer to the
“Changing the bulb”
section.
A large amount of frost is
forming; sometimes even
on the door seal. The door seal is leaky (pe -
rhaps after reversing the
direction the door opens).
Carefully heat the leaking
seal sections with a hair
dryer (set to cool). At the
same time, correct the
position of the door seal
with your hand.
