Connect the Stage to the Controller
The CSS450 Controller controls the temperature
and the Shear and Gap motors of the stage.
Refer to the back of the controller. Connect the
supplied RS232 lead from the RS232 socket on
the back of the controller to the PC’s serial/Comm
port. All the long leads from the Base should be
connected to the back panel of the controller.
Each connector is unique and cannot be inserted
into the incorrect socket.
Make sure that the two screws on “D” type con-
nectors are tightened.
Mains Connection
Once the RS232 lead between the computer and
the controller is in place, it does not matter which
one is powered on first. Plug the mains connector
into the back of the controller and then into the
mains outlet. Use the On/Off switch to turn the
power on or off.
Note: do not remove any of these connections
while the controller is powered on as this could
damage the equipment.
No attempt should be made to modify any of the
connections to the CSS450 Controller. Warranty
will be void.
