The musicbook Source allows a multitude of settings for the DAC
and the analog inputs. From the “Settings“ menu you will get to the
“Device settings“. Here the following adjustments can be made:
DAC Mode:
Sets the re-sampling mode of the digital-analog converter. In the
“DSD“ setting all digital input signals are converted into a 1-bit
signal (DSD). In the “PCM“ setting the PCM signals are submitted
“natively“, i.e. without changing the sample rate, to a synchronous
re-sampling in order to eliminate potential amounts of jitter. In this
setting the DSD signals are equally passed on unaltered.
Headphone Level:
Here the headphone volume can be adapted to the headphone
sensitivity. “Low” is the default setting for standard headphones
with a normal sensitivity of 100 – 105 dB/mW. The “High” position
boosts the volume by 12 dBs. It is perfect for low-sensitivity head-
phones such as the HiFiMan magnetostats.
Balance:
This control adjusts the balance of the stereo signal in 0.5 dB
steps. The control range is +/-6 dB.
