We are delighted that you have purchased this Light fitting. Please read this instruction manual before installation and retain
for the user/maintenance engineer for future reference.
Our products are designed to comply with the recommendations of BS EN 60598-1:2008 code of practice for emergency
lighting of premises and be installed by a competent person in accordance with the relevant wiring regulations.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Installation must be carried out by a skilled/competent electrician who is familiar with the appropriate standards and
technical requirements of the appliance and also taking in to consideration the latest building regulations.
Not suitable for use with dimmer switches, Install in accordance with I.E.E. Wiring Regulations.
This product
must be
earthed and
NOT
be subject to an electrical insulation test (500/1000v)
For Maintained Operation-For lamp always on,link S1 and S2(Switched Live).If S1 and S2 not connected, fitting works as non-
maintained.
For component protection in transit and user safety the luminaire battery fuse is supplied separately in the fitting please do
not discard.
INSTALLATION
1. Remove the diffuser from the body by removing the two screws on the right hand side of the fittings and slide
the Perspex legend from the fitting.
2. Loosen the two gear tray screws and remove the gear tray, ensure the LED cable is not snagged.
3. Disconnect the LED connector and earth on back box.
4. Fix base to the wall.
5. Ensure the mains supply is isolated.
6. For non-maintained operation a permanent 230v AC supply is required to the live (L), Earth and neutral (N)
terminals on the PCB. This would be as per non-maintained mode to charge the batteries.
5. For maintained operation for continuous illumination this can be achieved by connecting a link between S1 and
S2 (link supplied) or to have a switch S1 connection through a remote switch to the S2 connection.
6. Ensure ALL electrical connections are tight with no loose strands.
7. Plug the battery lead into connector on the PCB, reconnect the LED and earth lead to the back box.
8. Re-secure the gear tray into the base of the unit making sure that the mains cable and LED cable are not
trapped.
9. Slide the Perspex legend and refit the cover and two securing screws.
10. Restore the mains supply, the green charge LED should be illuminate
11. Ensure the fitting is charged for a minimum of 24 hours prior to testing
12. The date of the commissioning of the battery should be added to the label on the battery
13.
Subsequent testing should be carried out in accordance with the British/European standards.
