NSTALLATION
This section describes the requirements for installing the LifeSize Gateway unit.
Proper clearance at the sides of the unit to allow adequate ventilation,
and at least 20 cm clearance at the back of the unit to allow access to
cable connections
PC with a serial port and terminal emulation software to assign the
LifeSize Gateway unit an IP address
Dedicated IP address for the LifeSize Gateway unit
IP address of the router that the LifeSize Gateway unit will use to
communicate across the network
For an H.323 environment, IP address of the H.323 gatekeeper with
which you want the LifeSize Gateway unit to register
Available IP network ports on the switch for the LifeSize Gateway
unit
A grounded AC power outlet
10BaseT or 100BaseT LAN cable

Gateway-Serial Rear Panel Components
Component
Description
PORT connectors
DB-60 connectors that provide the serial line connections
for LifeSize Gateway serial ports 1 to 4.
ACT and ALRM LEDs
ACT lights green to indicate that the specified serial line is
currently in use.
ALRM lights red to indicate an internal error related to the
specified line.
