acidic Cleaning Instructions
& Routine Maintenance
Many locations have excessive mineral content in the source water
that can build up inside the ionizer over time and cause blockage.
A routine acidic cleaning of the ionizer chamber will help maximize
the life and performance of your ionizer by reducing the build-up of
these minerals.
In areas with heavy mineral content, this is recommended once a
week. It is also recommended to do this procedure in the evening as
it takes several hours to be effective.
• Run the ionizer on acid level 3 for one minute.
• Turn off the source water to the ionizer.
• Let the water “soak” in the chamber overnight (several hours).
• Run the unit again on acid level 3 to rinse the minerals from
the machine.
• Return the unit to normal operation.
Our Citric acid Cleaning Filter
(available for purchase online)
will be needed to clean the inter-
nal workings of the machine. This
procedure must be performed 3-4
times per year to keep warranty
intact. See page 31 for instructions
on how to do this.
