Figure: Differences between GPS modes
•
Standalone – 3G/GPRS module has no connection to the network, and uses only the GPS satellite signals it can currently
receive to try to establish a location.
•
MS Based - 3G/GPRS module is connected to the network, and uses the GPS signals and a location signal from the network.
GPS mode will transform to standalone mode automatically after get the ephemeris information from the server .
•
MS Assisted - 3G/GPRS module is connected to the network, uses GPS signals and a location signal, then relays its ‘fix’ to the
server.
MS-based and MS-assisted mode depends on URL without certificate. When MS-based mode failing, it will switch standalone
mode. MS-assisted mode is single fix. Standalone and MS-based mode is consecutive fix.
10.2. Technical data from the GPS receiver
Tracking sensitivity: -156 dBm
Acquisition sensitivity: -145 dBm
Accuracy <1.5m (CEP50)
TTFF (Open Sky) Hot start <1s and Cold start <40s
Receiver Type: 12-channel, GPS L1 Frequency (1575.42MHz), C/A Code
Update rate: Default 1 Hz
GPS data format: NMEA-0183
Power consumption: 80mA
GPS antenna: Passive and active antenna
