Section 4. Software overview
l
IP Address:
The assigned IP address is displayed here (and on the instrument
display).
Static:
Used to set a static IP address. This setting is used when configuring the
instrument to communicate over a cellular gateway, such as the Sierra Wireless
RV-50X AirLink. When selected, you manage the networking manually by setting
the IP address, subnet mask, and possibly the gateway.
l
IP Address:
Enter the desired IP address. For a local network, you will use some-
thing like 172.24.1.nn, where the values represented by nn are octets that
uniquely identify this instrument on the network.
l
Subnet Mask:
Typically 255.255.255.0.
l
Default Gateway:
Set the first two octets to match those of the IP address.
Wi-Fi
Under
Settings > Wi-Fi
you can configure the wireless network settings, including
whether the wireless network is on or off, and which channel it uses. You can
always use the default setting, but if there are many devices using that channel, you
may have better results with a channel that has fewer devices. If you have difficulty
connecting, try changing the channel that the instrument uses.
