Print and Pointers
PRINT starts adding characters to a path at the fill pointer location. As characters are
added, the fill pointer is updated.
The Format String
Characters contained in the format string are output to the destination path, except for
format specifier fields, which take the form

(number [delim])
Optional. Used when outputting an array. Num-
ber can be the number of elements to output, or *
for all elements. The optional delim character is
used, if specified, as the delimiter between ele-
ments.
flags
Optional. The flag characters are -, +, and space,
as indicated by Table 24-31
width
Optional. If present, specifies the minimum num-
ber of characters to print, padding with blanks or
zeros.
precision
Optional. If present, specifies the maximum
number of characters to print; for integers, mini-
mum number of digits to print.
type
Must be present. Specifies the type of item to be
printed. Note that what is popped from the stack
is converted to this type. See Table 24-32 on
page 24-62

Left justifies the result, pads on the right with blanks. If
not given, right-justifies the result, pads on the left with
zeros or blanks.
+
Numeric values always begin with a + or - sign.
