Dedicated Outdoor 

Air System (DOAS) Installation and Operation Manual

Pipe Insulation

• Insulate all cold surfaces sufficiently to prevent moisture from forming. All pipes must be insulated and each pipe must be wrapped  

separately.

• Use field-provided half (1/2) of an inch thick (or better) closed cell insulation. The thickness may need to be increased based on ambient 

conditions and local codes.

• All refrigerant and condensate piping including field-provided isolation ball valves and flexible pipe connection kits provided by LG should 

be wrapped.

• All insulation joints should be glued with no air gaps between insulation segments, and between insulation segments and the unit case. 

Insulation material shall fit snugly against the refrigeration pipe with no air space between the pipe surface and the surrounding insulation.
