Opens and closes the RT-20 Setup Menu. See “Setup Menu” on page 3-3.
8 Returns to the previous menu or menu screen.
9 Activates program mode, which is used to create a program list for the loaded disc. When a
program list has been created, program mode also activates program playback. See “PROGRAM
MODE” on page 4-20.
10 Activates search mode, which activates playback of a specific title, chapter, group, track, folder,
time, frame, or page on the loaded disc. See “SEARCH MODE” on page 4-24.

Opens the disc menu or top menu, provided the loaded disc includes a menu. In some cases,
pressing the MENU and TOP MENU buttons opens the same menu. In other cases, a specific
button must be pressed to open the menu. For instance, the TOP MENU button must be pressed
to open DVD-A top menus. See the “Disc Menu Command Matrix” on page 4-3 for more informa-
tion.
12 Selects the current menu option. In some instances, pressing the ENTER button will toggle
between two menu parameters settings.

Navigates through the Setup menus, as well as certain disc menus. Instances in which the and
arrows perform different functions are noted throughout this user guide. Refer to Sections 3
and 4 for more information.
DVD-V ONLY: When pause mode is activated, pressing and releasing the
button activates
frame-by-frame playback in reverse direction. When the button is released, pause mode reactivates.

frame-by-frame playback in forward direction. When the button is released, pause mode reactivates.

Activates playback of the loaded disc at regular playback speed. When pause or resume mode is
activated, pressing the PLAY or Pause button activates playback at the current playback time. When
stop mode is activated, pressing the PLAY button activates playback from the beginning of the
loaded disc. When the disc drawer is open, pressing the PLAY button closes the disc drawer and
activates playback from the beginning of the loaded disc.
