How to adjust interpupillary distance
The distance between the eyes is called “interpupillary distance”. It var
-
ies from person to person. To achieve perfect alignment of lens to your
eyes, follow these simple steps:
• Hold your binoculars in the normal viewing position.
• Grasp each barrel firmly. Move the barrels closer together or further
apart until you see a single circular field. Always reset your binoculars to
this position before using. Most binoculars have a graduated area at the
top of the centre hinge for reference in subsequent use in setting interpu
-
pillary distance.
Diopter setting and central focusing
• Adjust the diopter scale on the right
eyepiece to “0”. Look through the
binoculars at an object about 50 meters
away.
• Shut the right barrel of the binoculars
from the front end and turn the central
focusing wheel (B) until you get the
sharp image in the left eyepiece.
• Keep both eyes open during this
procedure.
