provides a dynamic IP address to PCs and other devices upon re-
quest. The LevelOne Broadband Router can act as a
DHCP
Server
for devices on your local LAN.
•
DHCP Client Support.
On the WAN port, the LevelOne
Broadband Router can act as a
DHCP Client
. This allows the use
of dynamic IP Addressing, as used by the majority of ISPs.
•
Multi Segment LAN Support.
LANs containing one or more
segments are supported, via the LevelOne Broadband Router's
built-in static routing table. If NAT (Network Address Translation) is
disabled, the LevelOne Broadband Router will function as a static
router.
Internet Access Features
•
Shared Internet Access.
All users on the LAN can access the
Internet through the LevelOne Broadband Router using only a sin-
gle external IP Address. The local (invalid) IP Addresses are
hidden from external sources. This process is called NAT (Net-
work Address Translation).
•
PPPoE Support.
Connect to your ISP using PPPoE (PPP over
Ethernet), if your ISP uses this method.
