Interfaces – Communication
Commands can be used to send commands directly to the positioning sensor for control and configuration.
The following transmission options are available for the commands:
• Online commands via the Ethernet interface (see chapter 10.1 "Online commands")
• XML-based communication via the Ethernet interface (see chapter 10.2 "XML-based communication")
10.1
Online commands
10.1.1 Overview of commands and parameters
Online commands can be used to send commands directly to the sensor for control and configuration. For
this, the sensor must be connected to a computer (host) via the Ethernet interface (see chapter 8.4.4 "Eth-
ernet host communication").
Online commands offer the following options for controlling and configuring the sensor:
• Control/activate sensor
• Read/write/copy parameters
• Carry out an automatic configuration
• Call up error messages
• Query statistical device information
• Perform a software RESET and re-initialize the sensor
Syntax
Online commands consist of one or two ASCII characters followed by command parameters.
No separation characters may be entered between the command and the command parameter(s). Both
small and capitalized letters can be used.
Example:
Command ’
CA
’:

Parameter ’

’:

Transmitted is:
