Short circuit and static discharges
The printed circuit board and the standard device contain components which
are endangered in the case of short circuit or static discharge.
Possible consequences:
ƒ
The printed circuit board or devices connected are destroyed.
Protective measures:
ƒ
For all operations on the printed circuit board, the latter as well as the
standard device have to be in a deenergised state. This in particular applies
to the connection/disconnection of the printed circuit board and the
connection/disconnection of connectors.
ƒ
All persons handling printed circuit boards must regard ESD measures.
ƒ
Connector contacts must not be touched.
ƒ
Printed circuit boards must only be touched in contact−free places and
must only be placed on suitable bases (e. g. on ESD packaging or
conductive foamed material).
ƒ
Printed circuit boards must only be transported and stored in ESD
packaging.
