Installing a storage drive into drive bay 3
Note:
Drive bay 3 supports only a 2.5-inch hard disk drive or solid-state drive.
To install the storage drive, do the following:
1. Prepare your server. See “Preparing your server and removing the server cover” on page 41.
2. Remove the front bezel. See “Front bezel” on page 42.
3. If there is a metal shield covers the drive bay, remove the metal shield. Save the metal shield in case
that you later remove the drive and need the metal shield to cover the drive bay.
4. Install the drive into a 2.5-inch convertor kit. Align the four screw holes in the drive with the corresponding
screw holes in the convertor kit. Then, install screws to secure the drive to the convertor kit.

5. Slide the 2.5-inch convertor kit into the drive bay until it snaps into position.
