Internal storage
The x3630 M4 server supports the following internal storage configurations:
Four 3.5-inch SATA simple-swap drive bays
Eight 3.5-inch SATA simple-swap drive bays
Eight 3.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-swap drive bays
Twelve 3.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-swap drive bays
Fourteen 3.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-swap drive bays
In addition, four and eight bay models support the installation of either an internal optical drive or an
internal tape drive.

Standard models ship with four or eight 3.5-inch SATA simple-swap drive bays or eight 3.5-inch SAS/SATA
hot-swap drive bays. Storage-rich models ship with twelve 3.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-swap drive bays, and
they can also be upgraded to fourteen 3.5-inch hot-swap drive bay models with the optional rear HDD
cage assembly.
