1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the
computer. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and
disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer.

Open the computer cover. See “Opening the computer cover” on page 14.
3. Remove the front bezel. See “Removing and reinstalling the front bezel” on
page 15.
4. Disconnect the signal cable and the power cable from the rear of the optical
drive.
5. Press the blue release button and slide the optical drive out the front of the
computer.
6. Install the optical drive retainer

on the side of the new optical drive.
7. Slide the new optical drive into the drive bay until it snaps into position.
8. Connect the signal cable and the power cable to the new optical drive.
