3.2. DCBM in EV charging systems
LEM Direct Current Billing Meters with 400 A and 600 A ratings, are connected DC energy meters,
referred to as "DCBM" in this document. They are dedicated to energy metering in the field of
DC applications such as fast and ultra-fast charging station for Electric Vehicles (covered by IEC
61851-23). Typical applications of the DCBM 400/600 product family are 50 kW up to 350 kW
Electric Vehicle charging systems.
The following figure illustrates typical integration of the device, and lists equipment and protagonists
as they are referred to in hereby document.
