7 MAINTENANCE
• Correct machine servicing is vital for ensuring reliable and
safe operation.
• Install supports underneath the cutter bar if it is lifted from
the ground and you intend to carry out work underneath it.
The cutter bar can be accessed more easily for maintenance work by
opening the front safety shield. Proceed as follows:
- Fold up the front safety cover and secure it with the hook
underneath.

Maintenance after operation
- Clean the machine thoroughly. After jet-cleaning, allow the discs
to rotate briefly so that the water is flung away.
- Check the mower knives and discs for tightness and damage
(torques: see § 7.3).
- Check the safety cover for damage.
- Grease the machine with an anti-corrosion agent.
- Grease the piston rod with an anti-corrosion agent if a longer
period of inactivity is anticipated.
Remove the agent before using the machine again. If not, the seals
of the rams may be affected if the anti-corrosion agent hardens.
7.2
Lubrication
All lubrication points of the machine can be greased with a
biodegradable grease (Total Biomultis SEP2), unless stated
otherwise.
- PTO shafts must be greased every 8 working hours via the grease
nipples on the cross assemblies, protection tubes and free wheel
clutch (fig. 16).
- Grease profiled tubes of the PTO shaft every 8 working hours
(fig. 16).
- Grease the pivoting points of the main shaft every 40 working
hours (A, fig. 17).
- Grease the pivot point of the spring arm (B, fig. 17) every 40
working hours.
- Apply a few drops of oil to the cams of the breakback device
every 40 working hours (fig. 18).
- Grease or lubricate all remaining pivot points every 40 working
hours.
