This steam ironing system conforms to ap-
proved technical regulations and to Electrical
Safety Directive 2006/95/EC.
Connect appliance to alternating current only
(voltage as specified on the type plate on the
underside of the casing).
The system is radio-shielded in accordance
with EC Directive 2004/108/EC.
Please note: When using the system, the
electrical connection and where applicable
the extension cable must be fitted with a 16A
fuse. Always use industry-approved extensi-
on cables only.
If the plug supplied with the equipment is not
suitable for the socket, have it changed by a
qualified expert.
The electrical safety of this equipment is only
guaranteed if it is earthed in accordance
with the regulations for electrical safety. The
manufacturer shall not be liable for possible
damages which may result from defective
earthing of the equipment. In case of doubt,
consult a qualified expert.
The entire system must only be used up to a
height of 2,000 meters above sea level.
As far as possible, do not use adapters,
multiple sockets and/or extension cables
with this equipment. However, if this is
required only use adapters, multiple sockets
and/or extension cables which comply with
the safety regulations, and ensure that the
maximum load indicated on the adapter is
never exceeded.
Safety instructions
The packaging material (plastic bag, polysty-
rol, etc.) is a potential source of danger and
should be kept away from children.
Do not touch the equipment with wet or
damp hands or feet. Do not dip the equip-
ment in water.
Do not pull on the electric cable with wet or
damp hands or feet.
Do not introduce any objects into the ope-
nings on the equipment.
Electrical appliances are not safe for use by
children. Therefore, always keep the steam
ironing system out of reach of children.
Never leave electrical cord hanging down
unattended.
Keep the iron and its cord out of reach of
children when it is energized or cooling
down.
Inexpert repairs can pose a considerable
danger to the user and may result in a
cancellation of the warranty.
Attention! Always have repairs carried out
by the Leifheit - Customer Service Centre or
authorised technicians.
Attention! If the appliance is converted
for improper use or misused in any way or
used in a manner contrary to the operating
instructions, the manufacturer will not accept
any liability for possible damage or injury.
This device is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with limited physical,
sensory or intellectual capacity or who have
no experience and/or no knowledge of how
to use it, unless they are supervised by a
responsible person or were given instruction
by that person in how to use the device.
Wind the cable in large loops. Avoid kinking
of cables. Check for parting of the cable.
Only take hold of the electrical cable by the
plug, and do not use the cable to pull the
plug out of a socket.
Always remove the mains plug:
- before leaving the ironing room,
- before cleaning and maintaining the
system,
- before topping the system up with water,
- after every use.
Never operate the steam ironing system if
either the appliance itself, the cable or the
protective antikink sleeve is damaged. If
there is damage to the feed pipe for the
steam station on the Pro-fessional steam
iron, please contact the Leifheit - Customer
Services Centre in all instances. Signs of
wear on the fabric cover to the feed pipe are
normal and do not lead to impairment of
function.
Attention! Never allow the hot iron sole to
get in contact with any electrical cables.
Attention: If the power cord of this device
is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its customer service, or a
similarly qualified person in order to prevent
hazardous situations.
