Mechanical diaphragm
Additional optics
The luminous intensity is continuously adjusta-
ble without changing the color temperature by
turning the adjusting knob of the mechanical
diaphragm (4).
Two fixed grade limit stops and three
additional lock-in positions (marked with the
letters A through E) allow selecting previously
defined diaphragm settings.
Position A results in the lowest brightness, while
Position E (completely opened diaphragm)
achieves the maximum brightness. Turning the
adjusting knob from one lock-in position to the next
results in approximately 2x increase or 1/2x
decrease of the luminous intensity. The adjusting
knob cannot be turned past the grade limit stops A
and E.
Swinging in the additional optics ensures that the
use of fiber-optic light guides with lower beam
diameter still results in an even luminous illumina-
ted area.
Performing the illumination at the fiber-optics
output with imaging or focusing optical systems
results in a perfectly even illuminated area by
swinging out the additional optics.
