5. Operation
5.1 Access levels
The HistoCore PEARL has three access levels. The user level symbol ( → "Fig. 35- 1 ") is displayed at the
upper right corner of the touchscreen.
• Standard user ( → "Fig. 35- 3 ") - The Standard user is the default user level when you log on the
instrument. It does not require a password. The Standard user can work with limited funtions, such
as running programs, viewing results, setting the status of reagents as empty or full, etc. The function
buttons that can not be accessed by the Standard user are grayed out.
• Supervisor ( → "Fig. 35- 4 ") - The Supervisor can perform all Standard user functions, and additionally
create programs and perform the initial setting functions. The function buttons that can not be
accessed by the Supervisor are grayed out.
Note
The system will be automatically switched from Supervisor back to Standard user if no operation is
performed within 10 minutes.
• Service ( → "Fig. 35- 5 ") - For service personnel only.

Switching from Standard user to Supervisor
1. Press the icon of Standard user ( → "Fig. 35- 2 ") .
2. Press the icon of Supervisor ( → "Fig. 35- 4 ") and the virtual keyboard appears.
3. Enter the default password, Histocore.
4. Press
OK (
→
"Fig. 35- 7 ") and the Supervisor symbol appears in place of Standard user.
Changing password
Follow these steps to change the password of the Supervisor level.
1. Press Change Password ( → "Fig. 35- 8 ") , and the virtual keyboard appears.
2. Enter current password and press OK .
