Rotational direction of the encoder and directional changes
An encoder as StrokeGo source not only provides information about the speed and
the position but also about the rotational direction. With the settings for the
<Encoder/Direction>
parameter it can be specified how this information shall be
processed.
Rotational direction right:
If this check box is activated, only signals from a
clockwise rotation of the encoder will be processed.
Rotational direction left:
If this check box is activated, only signals from a
counter-clockwise rotation of the encoder will be processed.
Rotational direction both:
If this check box is activated both rotational directions
of the encoder will be processed.
There are two options in order to define how directional changesshall be processed:
Use encoder direction for mirror:
with this option activated the printout will be
mirrored after a directional change. For technical reasons a backwardward
printout is mirrored. With this option activated the normally mirrored printout is
mirrored a second time. If this option is activated the
<Lock backward>
option
will be greyed out. Additionally this option cannot be activated if the encoder
rotational direction is set to
<Clockwise>
or
<Counter Clockwise>.
Lock backward:
with this option activated the position of a directional change
will be saved. The printout will not start again until this position is reached
again. The printer measures the way of the backward movement and after
another directional change it will start the printout again as soon as the position
of the first directional change was reached. It is possible to activate this option
when the rotational direction is set to
<both>
, althoug this setting would
make no sense.
