Fitting instructions
Please read this manual carefully before proceeding to install the battery charger and follow the instructions scrupulously.
1. Switch the UPS off.
2. Disconnect the power supply cable form the 230V socket.
3. Disconnect the power cable connecting the two boxes, slaking off the screw and by pulling the connector out of the battery unit.
4. Slack off the screws on both sides at the bottom of the rear surround and under the coloured edging on the front surround.
5. Remove the cover retainer screws (2 per side) and then pull it out from the base by slipping it out towards the top.
6. Disconnect the cables of all the batteries on the top shelf (if any).
7. Remove the 4 allen screws fixing the top shelf and then remove it from the frame.
8. If installed, remove the last pair of batteries positioned at the back of the shelf.
9. If not already installed, fit the captive nuts from the kit in the corresponding holes of the shelf.
10. Place the battery charger on the shelf as illustrated in Fig. 1. Insert the retainer screws in the side holes without tightening them completely.
11. Remove the pre-cut plate from the back of the frame by using a flat screwdriver as shown in Fig. 2. If the plate has not been precut, create a
rectangular opening as detailed in Fig. 3 (as an alternative, you can cut a round opening with a diameter from 45 to 50 mm).
12. Insert the shelf in the frame and fix it with the screws removed previously.
13. Push the battery charger against the bottom of the frame making sure that the input socket exits from the hole in the back of the frame.
14. Complete the battery charger fixing, by tightening the two retainer screws completely.
15. Connect the cables to the batteries (if any) by respecting the polarities (red +, black -).
16. Connect che cables coming from the battery charger to the connection board respecting the polarities (red +, black -).
17. Stick the label in the kit on, as shown in Fig. 4.
18. Reassemble the cover and the surrounds previously removed.
19. Connect the battery unit to mains, using the power supply cable in the kit inserting one end into the socket on the back panel and the other
into a power socket supplying the required voltage and current.
