Step 1:
Install 4 AA batteries into the battery box located in Leap's back.
Step 2:
Press the On/Off button on Leap’s foot.
Step 3:
Using the Make-a-Message Recorder, answer questions to customize your
child’s learning experience! After you’ve answered the fi rst four questions, you can
press the forward and back buttons on the recorder to “fast forward” or “rewind”
to any question.
Step 4:
How to store the Make-a-Message Recorder.
After you’re done
recording for the fi rst time, you can conveniently store the Make-a-Message
Recorder in Leap’s back. Place the Recorder, with buttons facing inside, into the
cradle in Leap’s back. Be sure to place the cord attached to the Recorder into
the recessed area in the cradle. Next, insert the bottom of the Recorder into the
cradle and push the top until it snaps into place. Move the horizontal locking slider
to the left to secure the Recorder into place. Leap cannot play if the Recorder is
not secured in this position.
Step 5:
Press the On/Off button on Leap’s foot to begin playing!
Leap will remember the personalized information and play it back in stories, songs
and games.
Recording additional messages with the Make-a-Message Recorder.
Move the horizontal locking slider to the right to unlock the Recorder from its
cradle. Move and hold the vertical slider upward, and pull the Recorder from its
cradle. Return to step 2 to continue.
If you purchase additional personalized learning kits for Leap, simply insert the new
cartridge into the slot in Leap’s back and follow Leap’s directions to personalize.
Leap will retain all of the information from your initial set-up, in addition to the new
information added.
