6.2 Cleaning the Outside of the Head
Before opening any part of the
head, clean off the dust and/or
process debris according
to the
following instruction.
To clean the outside surface of the head,
Laser Mechanisms recommends the
following items:
Vacuum (PLTLS0035)
Dry Wipe (PLTLS0037)
Wet Wipe (PLTLS0036)
Laser Mechanisms recommends the
following procedure to clean the entire
outside surface of the head at least once
per month or more often as necessary.
1. Vacuum the entire outside surface of
the head using the vacuum
(PLTLS0035) to remove loose dust
and debris.
2. Clean the entire outside surface of the
head using a dry wipe (PLTLS0037) to
remove additional dust or loose
debris.
3. Clean the entire outside surface of the
head using a wet wipe (PLTLS0036)
to remove any remaining debris.
4. Inspect the entire outside surface of
the head and repeat as necessary.
6.3 Servicing the Tip Assembly
Before opening any part of the
head, clean off the dust and/or
process debris according to
DO NOT BLOW OFF THE HEAD
WITH COMPRESSED AIR!
The tip assembly must be removed to
service the focusing optics
.
To remove the tip assembly:
1. Clean the outside of the head
For steps 2 to 7, see
2. Unscrew the shroud from the tip
assembly to expose the mounting
screws.
It may feel stiff because of the seal.
3. Unbolt the tip assembly using a 3mm
hex wrench.
The screws are captive.
4. Unplug the SMB connector by firmly
grasping it between thumb and
forefinger and pulling straight off of the
tip assembly.
