About the Out of Memory Error
When the amount of remaining internal memory reaches 10 MB, in
order to ensure that all measured data can be stored, the 831C stops
automatically. If the unsaved data is less than 800 kB, press the
Stop/
Store
button

to save it. Before you begin another measurement,
download all data to an external drive or PC by using the Data File
Manager or G4 LD Utility.

Saving Data to a USB Drive
On your 831C, go to Tools

System Properties

Preferences .
When you select USB from the Data Storage drop-down menu, data
files saved manually and through auto-store save to the inserted USB
drive. If there’s no USB drive in the 831C, the USB not available icon
displays in the Status bar, and data files save to the 831C internal
memory.
Saving Data to USB Backup
On your 831C, go to
Tools

System Properties

Preferences
.
When you select
USB Backup
from the
Data Storage
drop-down menu,
data files save to both the 831C internal memory and the inserted USB
drive as a backup copy. If the internal memory becomes full, data files
save to the USB drive. (See
