Determining the External Equipment Type
Before you connect the serial port pins of the BOLERO40 series devices to external
equipment, you need to determine if the external hardware serial ports are configured as
DTE
(Data Terminal Equipment)
or DCE
(Data Communications Equipment)
.
BOLERO40 is designed for use as DCE devices. Based on the conventions for DCE-DTE
connections, it communicates with the customer application (DTE) using the following
signals:
