Transporting
WARNING

To avoid serious injury or death:
•
Select a safe ground speed when transporting. Never travel
at a speed which does not allow adequate control of steering
and stopping. Rough terrain requires a slower speed.
•
When traveling on public roadways, travel in such a way
that faster moving vehicles may pass safely. Use accessory
lights, clean reflectors, and a slow moving vehicle sign that
is visible from the back to warn operators in other vehicles
of your presence. Always comply with all federal, state, and
local laws.
1. Select a safe ground speed when transporting from
one area to another.
2. Be sure to reduce tractor ground speed when turning
and leave enough clearance so that the Weight Box
does not come in contact with obstacles such as
buildings, trees, or fences.
3. When traveling on roadways, transport in such a way
that faster moving vehicles may pass you safely.
4. Shift tractor to a lower gear when traveling over rough
or hilly terrain.
General Operating Instructions
Once you have familiarized yourself with the Operator’s
Manual, completed
“Operating Checklist”
on page 11,
hooked-up the Weight Box to your tractor, and added the
proper weight to the box, you are now ready to begin
using the Weight Box.
Raise the 3-point arms to lift Weight Box enough to clear
ground undulations before traveling. Your travel speed is
determined by the terrain and how high the load on the
front of the tractor is carried. Always slow down when the
terrain is rough, when on an incline, and when turning a
corner. Carry loads on the front low to the ground. Slow
down when raising the load and when moving forward
with the load carried higher than recommended. Refer to
your tractors Operator’s Manual for recommended
heights to carry a load on the front loader arms.
Always lower the Weight Box until it is resting on the
ground before shutting the tractor down and dismounting
from the tractor. Refer to “Tractor Shutdown
Procedure”
on page 11.
Unhook the Weight Box from the tractor when it is not
needed to ballast the tractor. When unhooking the
Weight Box, park on a solid, level surface that will not
give way when wet or for any other reason. Make sure the
box is stable and can not fall over before leaving it.
It is best if the box is stored in an area protected from rain.
If stored in the open, make sure the drain holes in the four
bottom corners are open so accumulated moisture can
drain out of the box.
