Forward Travel Adjustment

Refer to Figure 3-5 on page 24:

"Reach Adjustment" instructions adjust the upper control
levers (#1) to be equally aligned while in neutral.
However, with this adjustment, the mower may want to
steer slightly to the right or left when pushing the levers
equally forward.

Make the following adjustments if you prefer to have the
upper control levers equally aligned while in forward
travel position instead of neutral position:

1.

While driving forward, make the necessary steering
correction required to make the unit go straight and
take careful notice of how the upper control levers
are positioned. (The distance one lever is ahead of
the other to make the mower travel straight.)

2.

Stop the mower on a level surface, place control
levers in neutral, set park brake (ON), shut power off
and remove switch key.

3.

You can either adjust the trailing lever forward by the
distance it was trailing or adjust the leading lever
back by the distance it was leading.

a. Loosen mounting bolts (#3) on the side to be

adjusted.

b. Reposition the lever forward or backward by the

distance it was trailing or leading.

c. Retighten bolts (#3) to the correct torque.

Example:
If the right control lever is one inch ahead of the left
control lever, stop the unit and either adjust the right
upper control lever back one inch or adjust the left
upper control lever forward one inch.

Seat Adjustment

Refer to Figure 3-5 on page 24:

The seat can be adjusted forward or rearward to a
suitable distance that is comfortable for operating the
deck lift pedal. Move the seat adjustment latch (located
under the seat) to the left and then move the seat forward
or rearward to a suitable distance. Once adjusted, return
the latch to the locked position.

The arm rest can be adjusted up or down to a suitable
arm rest height. Turn the knobs located under the arms
or behind the seat back to raise and lower the arms.

The suspension seat (not shown) has a knob centered
under the seat and to the front for adjusting seat
suspension. Turn the knob clockwise when supporting
more weight and counterclockwise when supporting less
weight.

Ground Drive Belt Adjustment

Refer to Figure 3-6 & Figure 3-7:

The ground drive belt tension is preset at the factory
and should not require readjusting throughout the life
of the belt. Replace belt when it becomes excessively
worn or damaged.

When a worn belt has been replaced by a new one, verify
that the ground drive extension spring (#3) is tensioned
correctly. The proper spring tension will be achieved
when the spring length is
4 1/4" (+/- 1/4"). The spring length can be changed by
relocating the spring adjusting bolt (#1) to an alternate
mounting hole (#2).

Ground Drive Belt Adjustment

Figure 3-6

Ground Drive Belt Adjustment

Figure 3-7

IMPORTANT: Do not over tension drive belt to
compensate for a badly worn belt or pulley.

IMPORTANT: Excessive belt tension may lead to
premature damage of belt and drive components.
Also it is a safety hazard to the operator and
bystanders.

Not enough belt tension may lead to premature belt
damage due to excessive belt slippage.
