Long-Term Storage
Clean, inspect, service, and make necessary repairs to
the implement when storing it for long periods and at the
end of the season. This will help to ensure the unit is
ready for field use the next time you hook-up to it.
1.
Clean and store the spin spreader as outlined above.
2. Clean the disc harrow of dirt and trash to minimize
rusting and wear.
3. Inspect for loose, damaged or worn parts.
4. Inspect all bearings for wear. Replace any worn out
bearings.
5. Inspect all nuts for tightness. Torque loose nuts to the
torque value listed on page 32.
6. Clean dirt, oil, and grease from areas where paint
has been chipped or scratched. Prime bare metal
surfaces after cleaning and repaint to prevent rust.
7.
Repaint parts where paint is worn or scratched to
prevent rust. Ask your Land Pride dealer for aerosol
touch-up paint. Paint is also available in touch-up
bottles with brush, quarts, and gallon sizes by adding
TU, QT, or GL to the end of the aerosol part number.
8. Replace all worn, damaged or missing decals.
9. Lubricate as noted in
starting
10. Spray cutting blades with a rust inhibitor or paint to
prevent rust.
11. Store food plot seeder on a level surface in a clean,
dry place. Inside storage will reduce maintenance
and make for a longer implement life.
