NIR Borescope
Thermal Imaging System
Installation Guide
2 Thermal Imaging System - Installation Overview
The NIR Borescope Thermal Imaging System comprises a thermal imaging borescope
camera which is designed to be installed inside a protective enclosure.
The enclosure has air purging and water cooling facilities. This protective enclosure is
designed to be installed in a furnace via a standpipe assembly.
The installation procedure can be broken down into the following steps:
•
Electrical connections to the NIR Camera;
•
Installing the camera in the protective enclosure;
•
Connecting the cooling water and purge air to the protective enclosure/standpipe
assembly;
•
Installing the protective enclosure in the standpipe;
•
Installation of the LIPS NIR-B Software.
2.1 Ambient air temperature and cooling water temperature limits
Fig. 2-1 (below) shows the maximum recommended water temperature for a range
of ambient air temperatures. Make sure that the water temperature does not exceed
the value shown in the graph e.g. For an ambient air temperature of 110°C, the water
temperature must not exceed 25°C.
Alternatively, if you know the temperature of the water, make sure that the air
temperature does not exceed that shown in the graph e.g. If your water temperature is
95°F, make sure that the probe is not used in an ambient air temperature above 158°F.
