THE CONTROL PANEL AND PROGRAMMES
The dual controls on this toaster mean each set of two slots can be worked independently of the
other. The function buttons illuminate when selected. When the lever is pressed down to begin
toasting, the cancel button will illuminate unless another programme has been selected.
The browning control allows you to select how light or dark your product will be. If you are unsure
select a lower setting. A groove on the control shows you what you have selected.
The R on the browning control means Reheat, and should be used to warm bread which you have
already toasted.
During toasting, you can stop toasting at any time by pressing Cancel button. The button is
illuminated whenever the lever is pressed down to toast.
If you are toasting something straight from frozen, press down the lever to begin toasting, then
press the Defrost button to give best results. The button illuminates when this programme is
selected. If you would like to toast a frozen bagel, follow bagel instructions described below and
also press the Defrost button.
The Bagel button is designed for bagels and any other products where you would only want to
toast the inner surfaces e.g. muffins. Place the cut surfaces of the bagel into the toaster facing the
central element. The button illuminates when this programme is selected.
If you inadvertently select the wrong button, press cancel and begin again.
On the underside of the toaster there are cable guides for storing any additional cable, we would
recommend you store any excess cable so it does not overhang any counters or get in your way.
The crumb tray slides out for ease of cleaning.
USING FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME
This product comes fully assembled. Unwind the cable, remove any packaging materials, cable ties,
plug shields and stickers before use.
There may be a slight burning smell the first time this product is used, this is normal and need not
cause concern.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The appliance has heat-insulated “cool touch” casing. However, as metal parts still heat up during
operation, please be careful when using it and allow cooling down before you put it away.
1. Plug in the appliance and switch on the power.
2. Turn the selector switch clockwise to set the toasting level from the lightest stage 1 to the
darkest stage 6. If in any doubt, start with the lower setting (the black groove on the selector
switch shows you the setting).
3. Insert chosen product to toast into the toasting slot and push down the lever until it locks.
4. The appliance starts toasting. The Cancel button illuminates. The appliance switches off
immediately once the set degree of toasting has been reached. The product then pops up
automatically.
5. If you wish to use the special functions, press the button you wish to select once you have
pushed down the lever. See the Control Panel & Programmes notes for more detail on each of
the special functions. The corresponding control lamp displays the function.
6. After use, switch off and unplug the toaster.
HINTS AND TIPS
The wide slots on this toaster allow a variety of breads, fruit breads, rolls, muffins, bagels, crumpets
and croissants to be toasted.
If cutting a bagel, muffin or roll always cut into two even sized pieces.
When toasting a product for the first time always choose a lower number on the browning control.
