The disadvantage is that they are initially more expensive and that
the surface finish is slightly wavy. This is caused because the teeth
have a very slight radius. This waviness is easily removed by a light
sanding.

Jointer.

Adjusting the table locking
clamps.
Note.

Disconnect the power

from the machine.

. Lift the tables to the vertical

position.

. Loosen the lock nut, adjust

the bolt and tighten the lock
nut.

Lower the table and engage

the locking clamp.

Repeat until the locking

clamp securely clamps and
locks the table.

Setting the out-feed table to the cutter head.

The out-feed table must be level with the cutter head blade when the
blade is at top dead center (T.D.C.) and the table must be locked.

Rotate the cutter head so that the blade is at the T.D.C. position.

. Place a straight edge on the out-feed table over the cutter head

and check that the blades just touch the straight edge.

Note.

This has to be checked at both sides of the table.

Adjusting the in-feed table.

Place a straight edge on the in-feed table so that it overhangs the

out-feed table.

Release the table lock.

Adjust the height of the table with the table height control knob so

that both tables are level.

Lock the table lock.

Never operate the jointer with the table unlocked.
