Forward Search
When the Forward Search button is pressed, the VCR goes into fast forward play mode. In this
mode, the VCR plays at 7 times the normal speed. It will stay in this mode as long as the Forward
Search button is held down or the VCR runs to the end of the tape. Once the Forward Search button
is released, the VCR will go into forward play. If the tape is stopped, a quick press and release of
this button will put the VCR into play; if the button is held down, the VCR will go into Fast
Forward Search.
Reverse Search
By pressing the Reverse Search button, the VCR will go into a high-sped reverse play mode. Again,
this speed is 7 times the regular reverse play. The VCR will stay in Reverse Search for as long as
the button is held down or until the tape is completely rewound. Once the Reverse Search button is
released, the VCR will go into forward play. When the tape is not playing, a quick press and release
of the Reverse Search Button will put the VCR into play, while holding the button down will place
the VCR into reverse search.
Stop
Pressing the stop button will stop the tape from playing. Pressing any other button, except the Still/
Step Button will activate the VCR.
Battery Replacement
If the 09459R remote fails to operate or does not seem to work properly, there is a good chance that
the three AAA batteries need replacement. To replace the batteries, the bottom of the remote
enclosure must be removed. This is accomplished by removing the 4 Phillips head screws located
on the sides of the remote enclosure. With the screws removed, the bottom of the enclosure will
separate from the enclosure top. The battery holder is secured to the enclosure bottom, and is
connected to the circuit board via a 2-pin connector, which can be removed. Care should be taken
when re-connecting the batteries to the circuit board to ensure proper alignment and polarization of
the connector.
If, after replacing the batteries, the remote fails to function, check that the batteries are properly
installed, and the 2-pin connector is properly plugged into the circuit board. Also, check that the VCR
is on, and that a tape is in the VCR, and that the tape is rewound.
