Regulatory Information
Defibrillation
Warnings
•
Do not attach medical device defibrillator
electrodes or place defibrillator paddles on
any part of the simulator.
•
Do not defibrillate on the ECG connectors or
other conductive parts.
•
Do not defibrillate the Patient Simulator in a
flammable or oxygen-enriched atmosphere.
This is a fire hazard.
For more information refer to the Important
Product Information booklet enclosed with
Shocklink.
Patient Simulator Power - Battery
Warnings
•
Only use the designated Laerdal approved
battery in SimMan ALS.
•
Do not use the Laerdal Li-Ion Battery for
other purposes than specified.
•
Use only the AC charger adapter supplied
with the product.
•
Do not use the battery in temperatures
above what is specified in this Important
Product Information.
•
Do not heat or incinerate. Do not crush the
battery.
•
Do not short circuit the battery contact.
•
Do not immerse in water.
Note
The Patient Simulator contains electronic
components. All components, including the
battery must be recycled and disposed of in
compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

User Guide.
Patient Simulator - External Power
Warnings
•
Only connect the Patient Simulator to a
Laerdal approved external power supply
dedicated to use on SimMan ALS.
•
Do not use the Patient Simulator close to
real patients when it is connected to the
external power supply.
Air Tank
Warnings
•
Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the
internal parts of the right thigh.
•
Do not puncture.
Torso Skin
Warnings
•
Ultrasound Live Scan (LS) tags must not
be used on anyone using a pacemaker,
implantable cardioverter defibrillator, or other
electronic medical devices. Components
of the technology may interfere with such
medical devices
•
Do not use ultrasound gel and avoid
exposing the LS Tags to any liquids.
