LaCie d2 U&I AIT Drive
1) Insert the LaCie Tape Utilities CD-ROM in your computer’s internal CD/DVD drive.
2) If auto-run is enabled on your computer, the Tape Utilities CD-ROM volume will open automatically. If auto-run is not
enabled, open My Computer, click on the icon for the CD/DVD drive in which the LaCie Tape Utilities CD is loaded and
the CD-ROM volume will open.
3) Click on the
TPPinst5.exe
icon. The
InstallShield Wizard
will load, starting with the "Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard
for TPP Storage Driver Installation" screen. Click
Next
.
4) Next is the
Setup Type
screen. Choose
Complete
then click
Next
.
Important Note: Windows XP Users!:
After this step, Windows will warn you that: "The software you are
installing has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP." You will have two
choices: Continue Anyway or Stop Installation. Choose Continue Anyway. The LaCie drivers were designed to
optimize your Tape drive’s performance and will work under Windows XP.
5) The Setup Status then finishes automatically, and you are then ready to install the second set of drivers.
6) With the LaCie Tape Utilities CD-ROM still in your internal CD/DVD drive, click on the
Silverinstall.exe icon
.
7) The
LaCie TPP Update…
screen will appear, with the
License Agreement
. Read the license, then check the
Agree
box and
click the
Install
button.
8) Installation will then complete automatically and your drive will be ready to use.
Connecting With FireWire
Attach one end of the FireWire cable to the FireWire port on your LaCie AIT U&I drive, and the other end of the FireWire
cable to the internal FireWire port on your computer. Your drive should now be ready to use.
Connecting With USB 2.0
1) Attach the Peripheral side USB connector to the LaCie drive.
2) Attach the Computer side USB connector to a USB 2.0 host on your computer.
Your drive should now be ready to use.
Important Note: Windows XP Users!
After your first connection via USB 2.0 or FireWire, Windows XP will
auto-launch the Found New Hardware Wizard. Follow the on-screen prompts to properly configure your device
for use with Windows XP.
